An introduction to dyslexia

The goal behind this course is to introduce your child to what dyslexia is.If you have a child whom you think might be dyslexic, or has recently been confirmed as having dyslexia this course is for you.After working in child care and education for over 20 years, dyslexia has always been of interest to me. A couple of years ago a family I was working with said she didn’t know how to explain dyslexia to her 10 year old daughter. I said that if enough people were interested I would put on a workshop for parents.Although a few years have passed, the facts haven’t. This course that I am presenting here today are the foundations of that workshop.It takes you through what dyslexia is. Other famous, successful dyslexics. How the dyslexic brain works and how we can support them with their learning. It talks about the importance of your child’s confidence and recognises the fact that we are all individuals regardless of whether we are dyslexic or not. As such, we are all individual in the way that we learn.The course has been kept simple so that it is easy to relate it back or share it with your child.I hope you find great value in it
